My Origin Story

I’ve been playing with cameras since I was young, I just love the magic of capturing an image. I became a real photographer after my first son was born, I called myself a photographic artist after I held my first exhibition in 1999 and over the three days I was given so many compliments being told my Art touched peoples hearts and souls. I knew it was the right time to sell my images.

When we moved to Houghton & Wyton Village, it was the start of being a real photographer. I displayed photos at the flower festival in St. Mary’s Church. The beginnings of becoming a photographic artist, It’s something I will always be eternally grateful for.

The Chapel Retreat Houghton & Wyton Village, Cambridgeshire 1999. Every year I put on an exhibition of new work at the Retreat. During those same years I also held several exhibitions in Cambridgeshire, including An Angel exhibition in All Saint’s Church Huntingdon. I’m very proud to have held an exhibition over 3 nights at the Royal Society of Arts, in London in 2010 and a wonderful two week exhibition at the Arts Centre Stamford. Then an Open Studios in Peterborough, where I displayed and sold large framed pictures, plus a number of photographic Art prints and local images.

Something magic happens in the camera

When I take a picture it’s then I know that there’s a magic to be found in the camera. For years I was a driven photographic artist, which for me meant that every time I went out I would take my Canon EOS30D with the 28mm to 135mm lens. I’m still at my happiest when out walking with my camera in hand taking photos. Today I enjoy just enjoy being present in the moment walking with a friend or family,

We all use our phones these days and I’m no different

I don’t always take a camera out with me, although I do take my phone. It’s nowhere near the same, although its great to capture the moment, Quite a few of my images are taken on my phone, if that’s all I’ve got on me, Its better than losing that image. I'm still an artist only on a smaller scale, but I am organising an exhibition later in this year, 2022.

Here is the article from Cambridgeshire Journal magazine 2009. In 2010 I decided to do an photographic exhibition in Royal Society of Arts, London, in memory of my brother Steve. Cherie Blair opened the event and top business people were invited along with family and friends all supporting and raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
